Ask your money anything: meet the Analytics dashboard
One filter over every chart. Pick an account, a category or a merchant, and the whole page changes as you go. New on Harvest.
Most money questions don't fit a template. How much did takeaways cost us this year? Is the joint account actually covering the bills? Which subscriptions are we both paying for? A fixed dashboard can't answer those. The Analytics dashboard can, in a couple of taps.
One filter. Every chart.
The Analytics dashboard sits next to your own dashboards, second in the row. At the top is a filter that's always open, and whatever you pick in it applies to every visual on the page at once.
- Search merchants and descriptions. Type "Uber" and every chart shows just your Uber spending.
- Pick account groups or single accounts, like the joint account or one credit card.
- Pick categories. Choose a main category and its subcategories appear underneath, so you can narrow it further.
- Choose how transfers count: Including, Excluding or Each visual’s own.
- Set the time range with the buttons at the top, from one week to all time, or Custom for any dates.
The charts update as you pick, with nothing to apply or refresh. Your filter is saved, so it's still there next time. Press Clear all to go back to everything.
What's on the page
The Analytics dashboard comes ready-made, so there's nothing to set up.
- Cash flow summary: money in, money out, what's left over, average daily spend, your biggest merchant and no-spend days.
- Spending over time: a bar chart that switches between Total and By category.
- Spending by category: a donut that splits into your subcategories, so Eating out can show coffee and takeaways on their own.
- Insights: plain-English notes on what changed, bills coming up and budgets to watch. They follow your search too.
- Spending patterns: your purchases grouped by size and timing, to spot habits.
- Shared merchants: the places you pay from more than one account.
- Latest transactions: the purchases behind the numbers.
Three questions to start with
- What does Uber really cost us? Search "Uber" and set the range to 1Y. Rides and Uber Eats, from every account, in one total.
- Is the joint account doing its job? Pick the joint account. The cash flow summary shows money in, money out and what's left over, just for that account.
- Which subscriptions are we doubling up on? Pick both everyday accounts and look at Shared merchants. Anything in the middle, you're paying from both.
