Import a statement from your bank
No linking needed: download a CSV from internet banking and bring it into Worthberry. Works on every plan, including free.
If you'd rather not link your bank, or your bank can't be linked yet, you can import a statement instead. It works on every plan, including the free one.
1. Download a CSV from your bank
Most banks let you export transactions from internet banking. Open the account, look for an option called something like Export or Download transactions, choose a date range, and pick CSV as the format. If you're offered a choice of CSV layouts, any of them will do.
Download it on a computer if you can. Some banking apps don't offer exports, and a CSV is easier to find in a Downloads folder than on a phone.
2. Bring it into Worthberry
- Open Accounts and press Import CSV, or press Add and choose Import a statement.
- Choose the file. Worthberry reads the columns and shows you a preview.
- Pick which account it belongs to, or create a new one.
- Check the preview. If the dates or amounts look wrong, open Adjust columns and tell it which column is which.
- Import.
Importing again later
Download a new statement whenever you want to catch up. You don't need to be careful about the dates overlapping: transactions you've already imported are recognised and skipped, so importing the same file twice won't double up.
Things to know
- Imported accounts show a CSV import label. Their balance comes from the statement or from what you typed in, so update it when you import.
- Categories work the same way as for linked accounts. On Sprout and above they're sorted for you.
- Your file is read and stored in Worthberry only. Nothing is sent to your bank.
